Additional Resources

The ministry has an assortment of Reading Plans to help seekers with specific questions and struggles. These should be the starting point for providing additional resources to those that are asking or may benefit from additional help.

Approved Resources to Share

Some conversations focus on difficult issues or the seeker is looking for something to continue reading at the conclusion of the conversation. We want you to be able to offer additional reading but also have those resources vetted and approved by the ministry. We are always trying to share the Gospel and connecting the seeker’s questions/issues with the hope found in Jesus. We want to avoid pushing people to other organizations unless the conversation requires a special type of assistance such as suicide prevention or Christian counseling.

For conversations where the seeker desires additional reading materials, you have several options. You can always use any of the resources in Echo that start with the letters NHG. These are ministry approved resources that you can share with others. Another option is to share ministry Reading Plans. Additionally, you can share any of the articles and resources found in this module that have been approved by the ministry leadership team. Feel free to submit new resources for review and ask questions where you are uncertain.

One final reminder. These are big questions and can be discussed for long periods of time. When the seeker is highly skeptical then this exercise can be even more challenging and time consuming. These resources are not the final answer to any problem or question. These are not meant to be copied and pasted as answers without genuine conversation. These resources are a good launching point to increase your knowledge on the topic and may end up being something you share if you know the seeker is looking for that type of resource. As you gain experience, you will become more comfortable and develop your own way of responding to hard questions.
